Bosanski Vitez - Australian Premier

The Australian Bosnian and Herzegovinian Chamber of Commerce is delighted to co-host the Australian Premier of Bosanski Vitez, with our friends from Bosnia and Herzegovina Futures Foundation and Bosnian Professionals Australia.

Bosanski Vitez (Bosnian Knight) is nationally, and culturally significant documentary film directed by Tarik Hodžić, which premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF). The film explores the medieval history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, deeply exploring identify from its earliest written records to the present day.

Focusing on the cultural and royal heritage that has shaped the nation, it highlights the importance of understanding Bosnia and Herzegovina's past to build a strong future. The film cements the view that we belong to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it belongs to us and all those that love it.

Produced in collaboration with partners such as Federal Television and BH Telecom, production took six years, reflecting challenges during its creation particularly during the pandemic.

The film has received positive feedback for its storytelling and production quality and has a significant role to play for both local and international audiences.

At the time of writing this article, the Melbourne and Sydney sell out screenings have been a huge success. Audiences shared they felt deep emotions and expressed the desire and necessity to learn more about Bosnia and Herzegovina's rich history - of inclusiveness, passion, bravery and love.
