ABHCC invited to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day in Sydney
Celebrating Norway’s National Day in Sydney
Today I had the honour of attending the Norwegian Constitution Day celebrations in Sydney, representing the Australian Bosnian & Herzegovinian Chamber of Commerce. I was graciously invited by Sophia Toftdahl, President of the Norwegian Chamber, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to her for the warm welcome and hospitality.
The event brought together a few hundred members of the Norwegian community, families, friends, and supporters — all gathered to celebrate a day that holds deep meaning for Norwegians around the world. The atmosphere was filled with colour, tradition, and unmistakable national pride.
A particularly special moment was the greeting from HRH Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who addressed her people with the poise and warmth that have made her such a beloved figure. You could genuinely feel the pride radiating through the crowd — pride in their heritage, their culture, and their Princess. It was a privilege to witness that connection firsthand.
As someone who leads a chamber representing another small but resilient nation, I was reminded of how powerful diasporas can be when they come together to honour their identity and strengthen their community abroad. Celebrations like today’s are more than cultural events — they are expressions of unity, continuity, and shared belonging.
It was an honour to attend, and I look forward to deepening the ties between our communities and chambers in the months ahead.
